Swaras (literal English translation: “The seven notes of the scale (swaras)”) is a semi classical pop/rock band from Toronto, Canada, formed in June 2009 by Asad R. Qizilbash who is also the lead vocalist and composer of the band’s music. Influenced by Nustrat Fateh Ali Khan, Shafqat Amanat Ali, Junoon, JOSH, Kishore Kumar, Lenny Kravitz, Matt Dusk and John Mayer’s music.
Swaras consists of only two band members Asad Q. and Hassan R. Bokhari who is the lead guitarist and composer of the band as well.

Thanks Hamad for introducing me to Swaras! I’ll be repeating my comments on Aag Kuch Aisee Lagi that I posted on Swaras’ group on Facebook. 🙂

Great sound Swaras! Worthy of adding to my song library 😀
wonder why you guys aren’t airing on music channels. I absolutely love Aag Kuch Aisee Lagi. Been listening to it non-stop since yesterday. Very powerful music.
For no reason whatsoever, the song reminds of the sad tragic event at the Parade Lane mosque on Friday. Random, I know. But that’s how it is.
2 thumbs up!
