In August 2007, an event and band manager given the nickname of Eddie released a mood swinging number named “Chahat”. As soon as this single reached my ears, I explored into any other releases from the so-called Eddie, but was saddened by narrow results. It was arguably like a 1 hit wonder, but it wasn’t forgotten.

Recently, a band called UREED (meaning “Desire” in Arabic) released a track named “Hum Nahien”. Lucky for us, the same artist who gave us “Chahat” is one of the talented individuals who comprise the band. Eddie takes care of the lyrics and composition, while Jonathon masters the guitars, bass and drum sequencing. The single was mixed by Sam of Akash.

The new number starts off with the promising sound of some Dhol. ‘Dhol Bajay Ga’ sung by Overload’ vocalist comes into mind. Soon after, distorted guitar riffs travel our ears. Eddie’s vocals are packed with enthusiasm and passion just like “Zameer”, giving the track a heavy cutting edge. The song itself makes a stand, especially with its aggressive nature. It quakes and pulsates your brain until it fades out. UREED are full of originality and reside with a recognizable noise. All in all, this single defines the band: passionate and wild at heart. It’s remarkable how well the music was produced (only by a few artists) to satisfy all the reluctant headbangers in the midst.

The album is said to be ready. With rumors of music videos being planned for the future. Our ears have been given a treat, now it’s time for our eyes to feast. The upcoming album “Aaenaa”, will be released online.

Upon it’s release, one fan had to say, ‘Well done Eddie Boy!’
