Bat For Lashes may recruit Beck for her next record

Bat For Lashes’ Natasha Khan said she would consider working with Beck again when it comes to recording the follow-up to her 2009 Bat For Lashes album “Two Suns“, after the two collaborated on new track ‘Let’s Get Lost’ from the upcoming soundtrack release for ‘The Twilight Saga: Eclipse’.

Asked about recruiting Beck for the third Bat For Lashes album, the recent Ivor Novello winner said: “He’s got great creative ideas,” adding that she’s not in any rush to make decisions at the moment. She said, “I’ve got a bunch of songs, it’s not early days in terms of I’ve got enough where I could make an album.” “But actually I want to take more time with this one because I’ve been on tour for so long and I think it’s boring to write songs about being on tour.”

Asked about her collaborative single ‘Let’s Get Lost’ with Beck, she said: “It turned out great, and I’m really proud of it.”

Despite planning to branch out for a while, “trying to be inspired by different things and collaborate a bit and just nourish the artist,” Natasha hasn’t ruled out a 2011 release for the next Bat For Lashes album. She’s contracted with troubled major label EMI for another two releases.

“Hopefully it will be fine,” said Natasha of the major, which is struggling with a debt burden. “God knows what’s happening, but hopefully it will be sorted out by the time my album releases.”
