ho maula
O Master
انحد توں احد ہویا
anhadd taun ahad hoya
becoming Ahad (One) from Anhadd (the boundless infinite)
احمد نام دھرایا
ahmad naam dharaaya
He gave the name of Ahmad (a name of Mohammad)
دو جگ نوں روشن کرکے
do jag noon raushan kar ke
illuminating both the worlds
باہو نام سدایا
baahu naam sadaaya
gave the name of Bahu (‘with Him’)
ہو اَلا مولا
ho ala maula
O God, Master
میرے گھر آیا پیا ہمرا
mere ghar aaya piya hamra
to my home has come our sweetheart
واہوا وحدت کینا شور
waahoo-wa wahdat keena shor
bravo! bravo oneness! what a din!
جو دم غافل سو دم کافر
jo dam ghaafil so dam kaafar
the instant a man is unmindful (of God), that instant the man is a rejecter (of God)
ساکوں مرشد ایہہ پڑھایا ہُو
sakoon murshid eih parhaaya – hu
our Guide has taught us this – He!
سنیا سخن گئیاں کھلھ اکھیاں
suniya sukhan gaiyyaan khullh akhiyaan
we heard these words and our eyes were opened
اساں چت مولا ول لایا ہُو
assaan chit maula wal laaya – hu
we trained all our senses towards God – He!
کیتی جان حوالے رب دے
keeti jaan hawaale rabb de
we gave our life into the Lord’s keeping
ایسا عشق کمایا ہُو
aisa ishq kamaaya – hu
passed the test of such a love – He!
مرن تھیں اگّے مرگئے باہُو
maran theen agge margaye baahu
(even) before death did Bahu die
تاں مطلب نوں پایا ہُو
taan matlab noon paaya – hu
then did he gain the object – He!
میرے گھر آیا پیا ہمرا
mere ghar aaya piya hamra
to my home has come our sweetheart
واہوا وحدت کینا شور
waahoo-wa wahdat keena shor

جیہڑی منزل عاشق پہنچن
jehri manzil aashiq pohnchan
the station that the true lover reaches
اوتھ غوث نہ پاون پھیرے ہُو
auth ghaus na paawan phere – hu
there, the Ghaus does not visit – He!
عاشق وچ وصال دے رہندے
aashiq wich wisaal de rahnde
in divine union do those lovers remain
جنہاں لا مکانی ڈیرے ہُو
jinhaan la-makaani dere – hu
whose abode is no abode (i.e. with God) – He!
میں قربان تنہاں توں باہُو
main qurbaan tinhaan ton baahu
I devote myself for those ones, Bahu
جنہاں ذاتوں ذات بسیرے ہُو
jinhaan zaaton zaat basere – hu
the abode of whose self is the Self – He!
میرے گھر آیا پیا ہمرا

جب میں تھا تب ہری نہیں
jab main tha tab hari naheen
when I was, Hari was not
اب ہری ہے میں ناہیں
ab hari hai main naaheen
now Hari is, I am not

jab mein tha, tab hari naheen
when I was, Hari was not
جب اندھیارا مٹ گیا
jab andhiyaara mit gaya
when the darkness was erased
دیپک دیکھا مانہی
deepak daikha maanhi
I saw the lamp within my own self
میرے گھر آیا پیا ہمرا
