Salman Ahmad Visits American High Schools for Awareness of Floods in Pakistan

Salman AhmadSince July this year, people from around the world have been doing their part with donations and relief efforts to help the affected victims of floods in Pakistan, which are over 20 million now, more than the combined total of the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami, the 2005 Kashmir earthquake and the 2010 Haiti.

Musicians not only from Pakistan, but from around the world have been contributing towards the cause. Salman Ahmad, not being in Pakistan, has been doing his part by visiting high schools at America to aware the students about flood affected victims in this area.

This friday, Salman made a visit to Freehold Township High School. Starting with the stories from his rockstar struggle, soon enough Salman focused on the real reason of his visit: a plea to help Pakistanis hurt by the recent flooding.

Salman mentioned he has raised over 600,000 USD with his wife through his relief organization till now. He also mentioned how even small things make big impact by saying “Just $35 could feed a Pakistani family of seven for two weeks. If it’s $3 you can spare . . . it’ll go a long, long way

“Students can also do something as simple as spreading the message through Facebook, Twitter and other social media“, he said. Salman has been an influential personality in the states. His words are taken seriously, let them be about sufi rock, addressing the matters of extremism or a plea to raise funds for floods
