Zameer Rizvi will be part of Coke Studio Season 4

December 12, 2010

Zameer RizviZameer who was born in Pakistan and grew up in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia until age 11, now lives in Mississauga, Canada, is an award winning musician ranked amongst Toronto’s top10 performers by the world’s largest music festival, Emergenza. Our sources from the closet have revealed to us that Zameer who regularly collaborates with his brother from the band Dead Shyre, and his cousins from the legendary Pakistani band Noori apparently will be part of the next season of Coke Studio which will air in the summers of 2011.

Zameer’s influences range from bands like Wham and N’Sync, Metallica and Alice In Chains, all the way to Eric Clapton and Sting. The result has spun Zameer’s music into a unique pop/rock fiber that attracted five-time Grammy award-winning producer, Steve Thompson, to produce his work (Steve has produced Madonna, John Lennon and several others). Zameer’s unique musical style led him to an invitation to exhibit his craft at a music industry showcase at the Fairmont Royal York during Canadian Music Week 2008, and to perform at Toronto’s Rogers Centre (Skydome).

Zameer’s debut single ‘Win or Defeat’, produced in partnership with Canada’s Paralympic Team, has created waves with its regular airplay on MuchMusic and MTV worldwide. With the music video starring Canadian Paralympic Gold Medalists, partial sales from Zameer’s song are being channeled towards the Canadian Paralympic Foundation.

Drawn to music at a very early age, Zameer has always tried to make the most of his love for melody.

It appears that Coke Studio runs in Noori brothers’ family after the appearance of Noori brothers (who were part of the second and third season), their cousin Rakae Jamil (who played sitar in the second season) and their parents (who were part of the third season) in the Coke Studio Sessions, this season of it will be featuring Zameer.

We wish him best of luck for his session in the studio.
