Kabul Dreams To Rock Pakistan in May [Dates Updated]

April 27, 2011

The first English-language Indie Rock and Roll band from Afghanistan, “Kabul Dreams” is all set to rock Pakistan. For the first time in Pakistan, Afghanistan’s one and only rock band will be playing a tried-and-true blend of jangly power-pop at the Base Rock Cafe in Karachi on the 06th of May at 20:00 and 08th of May at 23:00.

The band comprises of a Tajik, a Pashtun and an Uzbek, who come from different regions of Afghanistan and speak different languages, so they decided to sing their songs in English. The members of the band have all lived outside Afghanistan during the Taliban era, but came back to Afghanistan following the fall of the Taliban. One of the main goals of this band is to show a different side of Afghanistan to the world. To show that Afghanistan is not just the home of war, violence, killings, political debates and explosions.

Kabul Dreams is inspired by many international bands like Oasis, Radiohead and the Beatles. It has already made a name for itself away from home and gained popularity among the young Afghans.

We hope they enjoy their time in our country and get a chance to experience all the great things we have to offer.
