Ali Zafar To Do Intimate Scenes in ‘London, Paris, New York’

London, Paris, New York is Ali Zafar‘s third big bollywood film. It is a coming of age romantic comedy and the story is just about the the two main characters Nikhil (played by Ali) and Lalitha (played by Aditi Rao Hydari). The film follows their journey of love as they meet in London, Paris and New York for a night in each city.

Apparently, Ali Zafar has indulged in some bold sequences with co-star Aditi Rao Hydari in the film. In a press conference at JW Marriott, Juhu, Mumbai, Ali Zafar said that the script demanded intimate scenes and his wife had absolutely no problem with it.

“Well I do make sure as soon as I wake up I brush my teeth because I’d be doing very intimate scenes. In this film we have very family intimates scenes. So, you can watch it with your family. I think you’ll like it. Yeah! She (Ali’s wife) loves it.”

The film is bold enough to explore the true and real emotions that young people go through when they fall in love and when they fall out of love.

The film’s lead actress, Aditi Rao, was ‘in awe’ of her London, Paris, New York co-star.

“Ali is awesome. It’s great fun actually being on set with Ali. Ali loves music and so do I. He is always singing something and I would always listen to him and sing with him. I thank Ali for being just the most amazing co-star. We fight a lot but we are very happy working together. With all my heart he’s a really fantastic co-star.”

Aditi said that the intimate “scenes are very organic in nature”.

“They are there because without them the story would feel incomplete. We have not forced sex scenes anywhere just because it is believed that sex sells. It’s the intention behind whatever scene that you put in the film and if that’s an honest intention then I think it doesn’t upset the viewer or the actor in anyway and that is so in our film as well. I mean if we didn’t have an intimate scene in our film, you would think, what is wrong with these people, which world are they living in. So, I think sometimes its necessary. The scenes are beautiful and are lovely to watch.”

Ali Zafar feels that “the title is an integral part of the film”.

“It provides a backdrop to the love story and helps in portraying the characters’ journey of love. It’s a very feel good, natural film. We have tried to keep it as real and as believable as possible. The movie is about Nikhil and Lalitha, two very different people who fall in love. What we have tried to do is make a film that will make you fall in love with the film, the story and with the characters. It’s a very simple, nice, sweet, interesting love story.”

As we already know that Ali Zafar is composing, writing and singing the songs for the film. What we didn’t know until now was that his co-star Aditi will also share the mic with him.

“Aditi sings really good also. She has a beautiful voice,” added Ali Zafar.

Update 1:

We got in touch with Ali Zafar’s publicist Ammara Hikmat and she has clarified that by intimate Ali didn’t mean obscene scenes or even lip to lip contact. “Intimacy” has different parameters to it. Ali has a habit of joking and answering press conference questions on a lighter note so it should be taken like that. Although he believes that everyone has the right to have his/her own freedom of speech and action in reasonably defined parameters, he tries his best to keep general values of his home country in mind and work out a way where he can fulfill his professional obligations and not disappoint his fans at the same time. We have witnessed his choices to do the same so far and make us proud and inshallah will continue to do so.
