Indian Folk Artist Raghu Dixit & Others Praise Zeb and Haniya

The Raghu Dixit Project, pioneered by Raghu Dixit, is one of the India’s best contemporary folk bands. They define themselves as “India’s biggest cultural export” being a folk band that gets quite a lot of international listening. The popular group from India has found their newly favorite artist in Zeb and Haniya, the folk duo from Pakistan, after their performance in the second episode of “The Dewarists“.

Raghu’s music is an amalgamation of Indian ethnic music and styles from different parts of the world. He made Bollywood debut from the movie Mujhse Fraaandship Karoge in 2011. He has compared Pakistan’s best girl band with the likes of artists like Ustaad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and Junoon.

Raghu appreciated the duo by saying “Zeb and Haniya are my new found favorite artists from Pakistan after Nusrat sahib and Junoon.”

The co-performers of Zeb and Haniya in The Deewarists, Shantanu and Swanand, also appreciated them. Shantanu said “Zeb and Haniya are such special people. It was quite an experience for Swanand and me.”

Zeb and Haniya’s performance at The Deewarists has been loved by the Indian audience. A fan commented after seeing the duo perform at the Indian platform “Dewarists has broken all the chains of bringing music to Indian audience in an ecstatic manner.
