Zeb & Haniya, Shantanu and Swanand Teams Up Again

It’s been a quite some time since the singing sensation Zeb and Haniya have come out with something new and big. But right now there is definitely something cooking up at their end and hopefully we will be hearing it pretty soon. This would be a cross-border collaboration for them. Zeb and Haniya would once again be teaming up with Shantanu Moitra and Swanand Kirkire of the Dewarists fame. All four of them have previously collaborated for Dewarists song too.
It is really heartening to see our country’s talent being once again recognized across the border by such ace musicians and certainly gives us some thing to cheer off.
These girls have been in this business for almost a decade now. But their first break happened when they appeared on Coke Studio Season 2. Their performance was much hailed from all the quarters and was titled to be the next big thing. And they have surely lived up to the expectations, every time coming up with some beautifully mastered melodies which can really give you an evocative feel. There is some specialty to their music that never makes you feel bore and is always captivating.
Shantanu has always been a big fan of duo’s talent and always looked forward to work with them. Earlier on we saw them collaborating in Dewarists for “Kya Khayaal Hai”. This time they are together for another song, but not for the TV series. Recently Shantanu tweeted about his excitement regarding the up-coming project,
“Spent the day with Swanand Kirkire and Zeb & Haniya making music, what a way to celebrate ID.”
Also the much-acclaimed musician Clinton Cerejo was seen talking in high praise of the duo. Clinton has lately been in the news for producing the mega hit “Madari” at Coke Studio India. He has really made a mark and it’s because of him that the India’s version is finally being compared to Coke Studio Pakistan. Earlier in the week, he also tweeted about the meeting with Zeb and Haniya,
“I’ve always been a huge fan and so it was great to finally meet Zeb and Haniya. Thanks to Shantanu Moitra and Swanand Kirkire.”
Both Zeb and Haniya are currently in Bandra, Mumbai to record music with Shantanu and Swanand for their recent collaboration.
Update:
Zebunnisa Bangash recently confirmed that there will be more than one song, although details are scarce at the moment. She said,
“We are having a great time… Well there’s more than one and I hope we can do something with them soonish.”
Seeing so many talented people together at one platform, it is safe to say that this is going to be a real treat to listen. Hopefully Zeb and Haniya will be able to raise the bar for themselves which has already been set really high. All fans out there, watch out for some extraordinary stuff coming your way.
