Silversmoke – Sawaal
Guess what? Silversmoke‘s back! It’s been a long time since any news came out regarding the rock band from Islamabad but deep down we always wanted this day to come, and it has!
Since its inception, Silversmoke maintains its ideology: Creating good, clean, mature rock music. With a new lineup, that is exactly what the band plans on delivering.
Here’s Sawaal, the first single the band’s releasing after Zakham with the new line up.
Introducing the band members:
Farooq Shah (Vocals/Guitar):
The soul of ‘Irtaash‘. Not a lot of people know this, but it was Farooq who came up with the name Silversmoke and was the man who put the original lineup of the band together in their first live gig at Civil Junction, Islamabad in the summers of 2006/07. He was also the guy who developed the initial version of Zakham before its existing structure recorded in the studio. For all new releases, Farooq is also providing the major lyrical content.
Waqas Naeem (Guitar/Bass/Synth):
Waqas has been playing in the Islamabad underground scene for a long time now. An integral part of the band, Waqas provides his skills to the band not only as a musician but as the main audio engineer who is producing everything you hear on this page as a part of a homegrown audio studio project by the name of “Wavelength studios”.
Ali Nadeem (Drums/Percussions):
The beat behind Irtaash and Silversmoke, Ali has been an integral part in the development of each band and their role in the underground music arena. Although primarily ensuring the responsibility of being the drummer for Silversmoke, Ali has also been heavily involved in the development of each composition as well as assisting in the lyric writing process.
