After Farhan Saeed’s exit, many of us thought that now there will be no more disintegration in Jal and the duo of Goher and Shazi will quietly continue to produce music every now and then under the banner of Jal. But last night we all were proved wrong as Shazi, the bass guitarist of JAL, updated his status revealing the big news of him leaving the Jal.

We have heard of numerous must-watch Pakistani movies hitting theaters in the near future but Pakistan Music lovers also have the right to know what’s going on and what’s next in the pipeline. So here is some spice of what’s up with your favorite artists and bands these days.
Jal:
So far Jal’s latest album Pyaas has done reasonably good in the market. This should be a big relief for all Jalaholics that the band is not over yet, in fact still doing great. ‘Dil Harri’ was a soulful song with a harmonious video which was released a couple of months ago.
Like all other top musicians, Goher Mumtaz of Jal fame also seems to be taking more interest in his acting career these days. He recently played the role of leading character in Hum TV’s drama serial Tanhai where he also sang the title track of the play. And now once again he is shooting for another drama serial for Hum that means that he is slowly getting more comfortable with his new job.
Farhan Saeed, the ex-lead vocalist of the famous band Jal, is in Lahore these days after returning from India where he is said to have completed some big projects. Due to the large number of assignments from across the border, Farhan Saeed is seen spending most of his time in India but he is back home for a video shoot that will soon hit the airwaves locally and internationally.
KARACHI: In collaboration with some of the most renowned artists of the Pakistan music industry, Cornetto, the most popular frozen dessert brand amongst the Pakistani youth, is bringing a fresh music platform, the Cornetto Music Icons. Cornetto Music Icons began airing on 28th April 2013, with one episode every week. The show aims to pick the best of the wellspring of the new vocal talent from the Pakistani youth and mould them into future icons through a 10 episode TV show on the ARY Network and PTV starting end April 2013.
As soon as the new year starts, speculations about the lineup of Coke Studio also starts to flow out in musical circles because in the recent times, Coke Studio is by far the most recognized platform for any of the musicians around and gives them a chance to become stars overnight. So naturally, everyone tries to be a part of this biggest musical phenomenon but eventually few make it to the final list.
After successfully completing its 5 seasons, Coke Studio is now gearing up for the 6th one and we have got our hands on few of the acts that have been finalized for the upcoming season.
So finally after a long wait that seemed to be eternal, as always the case with Jal, they are back on to the music scene. When their last video “Mahiya” released, they were confidently announcing through their video that Jal’s 3rd album ‘Pyaas’ will be out by March 2012. But at the end, they only managed to release it exactly one year after the given date. I guess keeping in view the current scenario, musicians like Jal should be extra careful not to give any deadlines which they simply cannot meet.
