After screenings in India, UK and US, the much anticipated Indie film JOSH created by Pakistani director, producer and writer Iram Parveen Bilal, is set to premiere in Karachi end of July. Boasting an all-star cast, ‘JOSH’ is set to screen at all major cinemas and movie theaters across Pakistan this Eid-Ul-Fitr. Written, directed and produced by Iram Parveen Bilal, co-produced by Saad Bin Mujeeb and Kelly Thomas, the mystery thriller JOSH is based on an original script which is inspired by several real life events, including Parveen Saeed’s Khana Ghar and the concept of “erasing hunger to erase crime” which provides affordable meals to the underprivileged in and around Karachi’s slums.

After their successful activation at the 6th PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week, Unilever unveiled their latest on-ground activities by Magnum and Lipton at the 12th Lux Style Awards held on 4th July 2013 in Lahore.
Patrons who participated in the Magnum activity had a chance to win exciting prizes, including a Mercedes Benz SLK Sports Car and other luxurious gifts such as Louis Vuitton, Rayban, Hugo Boss and many more!
This year’s Lux Style Awards were held last night at the Expo Center in Karachi. Besides television and fashion, there were some music categories too. This year some musicians even ventured into acting like Fawad Afzal Khan of EP who was nominated for the drama serial Dastaan, in which he played the character of Hassan, but did not win.
Guitarist, composer and music producer Shallum Xavier and singer Zara Madani won the Singer of the Year award for their song ‘Payam‘. Director Bilal Lashari won the Best Music Video Director award for EP’s music video Shor Macha.
Other music categories included the award for the Best Artist that went to pop/rock band Mauj

What do musicians do on Eid? Well, they spend it like any other Pakistani, mostly traditionally. This Instep Eid survey threw up some surprising results. Amanat Ali of Kohram fame is possibly the most fashion conscious musician going, followed by Farhan Saeed and Goher Mumtaz of Jal. On the other hand, hardcore rocker Ali Noor is against blowing up big bucks for a designer outfit on Eid. His brother Ali Hamza wears whatever his mother or grandmother wants him to and so does Ehtesham of ‘Aisi Taisi’ fame. Nearly everyone favours tradition for a day or two at most and then will get back into their jeans and chill out… except for Uns Mufti who gives out the loudest rebel yell of all…
