As the music industry adapts to the changing mechanics of the world, we see increased artistic output and an even greater reception. Instead of record companies, the artists are turning to sponsors and the trend of cover songs is gaining momentum. Cover songs are a great way to show off your skills and pay tribute to your heroes, but it wasn’t a very common practice until very recently. Atif Aslam will soon start shooting for a three-month-long musical reality TV show, Sur Kshetra, where he will be captaining the Pakistani singers and Indian singer Himesh Reshammiya will captain the Indian side. The show will be shot in Dubai and will most likely go on air early next year.
Apart from this show, Atif will also be jamming with ex-members of American rock band, Guns N’ Roses, for the Coke Studio sessions. Right now, we’re unsure whether he will perform for the Pakistani version of the show or the Indian.
As you may already know that recently Atif Aslam performed a charity concert at the “Best Buy Theatre” in New York City with the former members of the American hard rock band Guns N’ Roses including Slash.

Atif Aslam is all set to use his voice to pay tribute to the victims of September 11th, 2001. Atif, who shot up during the same period, will be performing a gig for a charity benefit at an indoor theatre in Times Square in New York City with the former members of the American hard rock band Guns N’ Roses. This will be the first time that all artists of the ‘Pakistan America Peace Through Music Project‘ will be performing together.
He announced the news via his twitter account. He tweeted,
It has been a long time since we last heard any news about The Pakistan America Peace Through Music Project. So, what have these guys been up to? According to a report released today by the official facebook page of Atif Aslam,
“Sonic Peacemakers: Atif Aslam, Lanny Cordola and Todd Shea got together in July to perform together during Atif Aslam’s U.S. summer tour. Events to raise awareness about Sonic Peacemakers were held in Washington DC, Los Angeles and Seattle
Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal is an American guitarist, songwriter and producer best known for being one of two current lead guitarists in the hard rock band Guns N’ Roses.
Earlier this week, Positive the band (also known as the Guns N’ Roses of Hyderabad) performed their track “House of Lords” at Base Rock Cafe. The recording of the track then made it’s way to the bumblefoot who then appreciated the song and the band in a personal message, reported Base Rock Cafe.

After working with one of the top producers and DJs for his debut album, Pakistan’s most prominent rapper, Adil Omar will soon be seen collaborating with a turntablist and producer Leor Dimant, better known as DJ Lethal, best known as a member of an American Nu metal band Limp Bizkit, and formerly a member of the Irish-American-influenced hip hop group House of Pain on his untitled debut album, coming in 2012.
