Or so they say. Jermaine Jackson, who is currently in Mumbai, working with Adnan Sami Khan on a collaborative record (as a tribute to Michael Jackson) is not having such a good time. When the shooting was set to begin for the tune, Adnan Sami was initially denied permission. He is not an Indian citizen and neither is Jermaine. But after pulling powerful strings, Adnan finally got his way and was permitted to shoot at the Gateway of India. But then last week, as the video shoot was going ahead, it poured like true Mumbai monsoons and washed away all their plans. Soon the crew started another schedule in Mumbai but as the video was wrapping, Adnan got into an accident. “He (Adnan) was injured in the sea waters near the Gateway of India,” reports Times of India.
Adnan Sami is back in the news. But thankfully, it isn’t about his ex-wife. It’s in fact for a collaboration. The singer is teaming up with Jermaine Jackson (of Jackson 5 fame) on a record that will serve as a tribute to Mumbai, which is Adnan’s current home.
Upon Jermaine’s arrival at Adnan’s house, his son Azaan fell into a dilemma. According to Adnan, “My son had a problem when Jermaine came home. He has two dogs named after Elvis Presley and MJ (short for Michael Jackson). ‘How can we call ‘MJ’ when Jermaine uncle is around?’ I tried to convince him that the name was a tribute to MJ. But my son refused to call out our canine’s name while Jermaine was around,” Adnan said.
Jermaine Jackson has recently arrived to Mumbai to work on a collaboration with Adnan Sami. Adnan Sami says
I could’ve easily joined him in Los Angeles to record the song. But Jermaine insisted on coming down.
That’s because Jermaine loves Mumbai and that’s the reason why he has agreed to do the tribute project. The tribute will be part of the album that Adnan has been working on for almost around 2 years. During the 10-days trip Jermaine will also finalise the concept video for the album.
