Renowned guitarist Asad Ahmed, has been in the music industry for ages. It’s just that most of the time, he hasn’t had a chance to showcase himself as a sole artist. With an upcoming album over the horizon, Ahmed wants to show what he can bring to the table.
In a defiant stand, Ahmed recently made a clear statement, stating, “I don’t want to do the whole guitar hero thing again. I think, for me, it has always been more about the songs than guitar solos.”
And likewise, Ahmed may have just already proved he can create instrumental ‘songs’ in his new release named “Will You”. It’s given to us hungry rockers like a starter prior to the main course.

Najam Sheraz recently sang a number titled “Khushi” for the episode 8 of children`s program “Sim Sim Hamara” (Pakistani version of “Sesame Street”).
Rabindra Sangeet, also known as Tagore Songs in English, is a form of music composed by Bengali musician, poet and novelist Rabindranath Tagore who added a new dimension to the musical concept of India in general and Bengal in specific. Rabindra Sangeet use Indian classical music and traditional folk music as sources. Tagore wrote some 2,230 songs. Theses songs are now being trancreated into Urdu nazms and for the first time a Pakistani singer has been roped in to render Tagore’s songs.

MUMBAI: Radio Mirchi geared up for the third edition of India’s leading music awards ceremony, “Mirchi Music Awards 2010” which were held last night (January 27, 2011) at the MMRDA Complex in Bandra, Mumbai, India.
Mirchi Music Awards, instituted by Radio Mirchi 98.3 FM, celebrates excellence in the music industry of India. Positioned and envisioned as the Grammys of India, the Mirchi Music Awards are purely Bollywood awards. It is an award of excellence and not a popularity award. The event was supported by the Singers Association of India and the Music Composers Association of India.
Pakistani musicians swept Mirchi Music Awards as Rahat Fateh Ali Khan was nominated under four different categories for his bollywood songs while Amanat Ali, Najam Sheraz, Shafqat Amanat Ali & Shiraz Uppal were also nominated.
