Mekaal Hasan Band is in the completion phase of giving final touches to their 3rd studio album ‘Andholan’. This time around MHB is working on Amir Khusrau’s kalam for their upcoming album that is all set for a release, most probably by the end of this year.

On Friday, the 22nd of June 2012, CityFM89 celebrated World Music Day in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad simultaneously. 20 up and coming Pakistani bands performed in the three cities.
The Karachi event took place at Port Grand. Khalid Malik of The Breakfast Show on CityFM89 hosted the evening. The show started off with Hassan Hussain performing Pakistani pop classics and his original single “Rangeen Raat” Up next was 7 on 3rd, fronted by Gibran Nasir, who performed covers of popular songs such as Adele’s Rolling In The Deep and Vital Signs’ ‘Dil Dil Pakistan.’

Nominations for the 11th LUX Style Awards were announced in Karachi this week. The Awards office of Pakistan’s most credible and coveted Awards released nominations in 26 categories in the genres of Film, Music, Television and Fashion.
The LSA Film Jury voted for Bol across all three categories. Shoaib Mansoor’s Bol was the sole film that made the grade and qualified as a bonafide entrant for an Award that is given out for excellence in cinema.
Recently the Lahore based band “Poor Rich Boy (and the Toothless Winos)” made a special appearance on Moonlight Mile and were kind enough to record a session in the CityFM89 Lahore studios while they were at it. Below are the songs from the session.
