The Sketches disbanded: Naeem Shah, the band’s lead guitarist, has finally called it a day with The Sketches as he officially announced on his facebook profile that he is no longer a part of the band. “I Quit THE SKETCHES,” he said.
This came as a surprise to many of the fans who have supported the band since its inception.
Here’s what Saif Samejo, the band’s founder and lead vocalist, said just after the band’s split with Naeem,

It was the year 2003 when Saif and Naeem decided to step into the world of music to create a band named The Sketches that would bring people together through folk and Sufi music.
The Sketches released their debut album back in February 2010 by the name of “Dastkari”, and since then, they’ve come a long way these past two years (even having more than 70,000 fans on Facebook).

On Friday, the 22nd of June 2012, CityFM89 celebrated World Music Day in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad simultaneously. 20 up and coming Pakistani bands performed in the three cities.
The Karachi event took place at Port Grand. Khalid Malik of The Breakfast Show on CityFM89 hosted the evening. The show started off with Hassan Hussain performing Pakistani pop classics and his original single “Rangeen Raat” Up next was 7 on 3rd, fronted by Gibran Nasir, who performed covers of popular songs such as Adele’s Rolling In The Deep and Vital Signs’ ‘Dil Dil Pakistan.’
