So finally the wait is almost over. One of the most anticipated movies in the history of Pakistani cinema is going to hit the theatres very soon. Waar, whose first look promo was released about 2 years back, had to face a lot of difficulties in its post-production phases that resulted in numerous delays in the release of this movie. Towards the closing they had some serious budget issues owing to the magnitude of this mega project.

Just when you thought that Meesha Shafi is going to get a break from her filming career and we won’t be hearing from her any time soon, she hits back with yet another project which is although in its very initial phases, but would definitely bag her another Hollywood flick which many in Pakistan can only dream of.
Earlier we have reported about her being cast in Bhaag Milkha Bhaag which is an up-coming Bollywood movie starring Farhan Akhar and Sonam Kapoor. She is also a part of much awaited ‘The Reluctant Fundamentalist’, an adaptation of Mohsin Hamid’s novel.

Meesha Shafi has got her hands on yet another Indian movie named “Bhaag Milkha Bhaag”. She was seen shooting for her part in the film in mid of August along with the rest of the cast in Mumbai.
It’s good to see that now Pakistanis are getting their fair share as far as the acting arena is concerned as now they are being cast in some good banner movies. Same is the case here as Meesha has succeeded in clinging on to another notable project. The film is directed and produced by Rakeysh Omparkash Mehra who is best know for writing and directing the super hit Rang De Basanti.
Film: Waar
A first look at Pakistan’s most anticipated feature film ‘WAAR’.
Starring: Shaan Shahid, Aisha Khan, Shamoon Abbasi, Meesha Shafi, Ali Azmat & Hamza Abbasi.
The most anticipated Pakistani film, Bilal Lashari‘s Waar, which has been very particular about not disclosing the story plot and details too soon, seems to hold a lot of surprises for viewers. Even though it has been shot in Islamabad and Lahore throughout, the film’s PR team made sure not all details reach the public eye. It was announced recently that Meesha and Ali Azmat are also part of the film. Now that the trailer is almost ready for release, in an interview to Instep, Ammara Hikmat (Ceo of encyclomedia PR) revealed that veteran TV actress, Ayesha Khan, is also playing an important role in the film.
Ayesha Khan has earned herself reputation in the industry as a skilled actress over the years no doubt, the film producer, Hassan Waqas Rana, who has brought together creme de la creme of industry for the project, selected her for a challenging role. Hassan Waqas Rana, a perfectionist by nature, who developed the concept of entire film, has carefully chosen every actor to justify his character on screen.
We have previously done quite an extensive coverage of Lashari‘s upcoming feature film ‘Waar‘ including over 150 BTS pictures. We have recently got our hands on some latest ‘Behind the Scene’ pictures. The film is expected to come out in the first half of 2012.
Earlier we reported that Ali Azmat and Meesha Shafi will be making their acting debut in Pakistan’s most expensive film called ‘Waar‘. Directed by Bilal Lashari, ‘Waar’ (to strike) is an action/thriller and drama film.
But that’s not all. According to Ali Azmat’s official facebook page,
“He (Ali Azmat) will not only be acting in the movie but he`ll also be singing along with Meesha Shafi.”
This year, Atif Aslam made his acting debut with Shoaib Mansoor‘s ‘Bol‘ and received mixed to negative reviews for his work from both the critics and the masses. Now two more popular Pakistani singers are going to make their mark in acting.
Pakistani rock icon Ali Azmat and model turned singer Meesha Shafi will be making their acting debut in Bilal Lashari‘s first full-length feature film Waar (to strike) which is an action/thriller and drama film, written by Hassan Waqas Rana.
Earlier in 2010, we reported that Hollywood producers are auditioning for film actors in Islamabad for a high-profile Hollywood/Lollywood collaborative project. The director of the project, Bilal Lashari has shot his first full-length feature film called Waar. The film was always a sole MindWorks Media production and was not associated with the ISPR at all. Same goes for the deal with Warner Brothers. The Producers have talked to Hunt Lowry, producer of “Donnie Darko” and Warner Bros.’s smash hit “A Walk to Remember”, there’s no point denying that but no deal has been made with Warner Brothers yet.
Qayaas will be giving away three songs in a film directed by Bilal Lashari and starring Shaan. This will be one of it’s kind project as it will be first complete feature film by Lashari who has previously only directed music videos and short films.
Lashari on shooting for the film said
Directed Shaan today. The man is brilliance.
The presence of Qayaas in the film makes the project sound even more interesting. Khurram Waqar, the lead guitarist, of the band put his excitement in words by saying
