Sandaraa is a new band from Lahore, Pakistan and Brooklyn, New York. The group explores a vast repertoire of South Asian material (from Balochistan, Afghanistan and beyond,) while blending it with the sounds of Eastern Europe, the Balkans, and more. The group was founded in the fall of 2013, with the help of the Center for Traditional Music and Dance, and the MAP fund.
Zebunnisa Bangash, more commonly known as Zeb from the famous duo ‘Zeb and Haniya‘ is now leading a new band called ‘Sandaraa‘ that is going to be a cross continental collaboration between the Lahore based singer and some versatile musicians belonging to Brooklyn, a famous area in New York.
Zeb and Haniya who shot to fame with their appearance on Coke Studio couple of seasons back are once again on the sets for the season 6 and Coke Studio recently released their first single from this year’s season in the form of ‘Laili Jaan‘.
Zeb and Haniya, Pakistan’s highly acclaimed musical duo, wowed audiences at New York University’s Abu Dhabi campus on April 4, 2013. Their packed performance was a follow-up to their 2011 appearance at NYU Abu Dhabi as part of a prestigious international artists’ colloquium, curated by world-renowned New York-based Performer/Director Anna Deveare Smith and eminent curator Gideon Lester. “It’s a great honor to be invited again by Professor Walter Zev Feldman to perform at such an illustrious university, alongside such amazing artists,” Zeb said.

Zeb and Haniya performed live at the Lamont School of Music at the University of Denver on Sunday, September 30th, during their ongoing US tour.
Zeb and Haniya shared Pakistani music, art, and culture with over 100 students at Carroll College on Tuesday morning, during their ongoing US tour.
Zeb & Haniya and band visited music classes at Amy Biehl High School for a hands-on learning experience in tech set up and sound checking, followed by a concert for students and teachers, during their ongoing US tour.
Recently, the students of University of Wisconsin orgranised a meet and greet event with Zeb and Haniya for the Indian Grad Student and Pakistani Student Associations, where they were given a chance to get up, close and personal with the melodious duo.
