ISLAMABAD–UNDP has appointed award-winning sports and music celebrities as ambassadors for Pakistan’s early recovery effort in the wake of unprecedented floods. Pakistani pop singer Hadiqa Kiani and tennis player Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi will use their celebrity and broad appeal to help UNDP publicize the needs of more than 20 million people starting to rebuild their lives after floods that have devastated the country since July.

Pakistan female Pop sensation, Hadiqa Kiani who has constantly been working to help the flood victims has been appointed by the United Nations as a Goodwill Ambassador, she is the first woman from Pakistan to be a UN Goodwill Ambassador, she has been appointed by their United Nations Development Program along with Tennis Star and Youth Icon Aisam-ul-Haq for Early Recovery.
On the occasion of her appointment, she said:
“UNDP is helping communities affected by the floods rebuild their life and I am proud to add my personal commitment to these efforts.”
Hadiqa has been working as an Advocate for Environment for UNDP Pakistan and sang UNDP Pakistan’s public service song which was very well received by public.
