The coke studio season 3 is all in the air and a hot topic these days. The exciting season marks with Noori, Meesha Shafi, Karavan, Arif Lohar, Arieb Azhar, Abida Parveen, Zeb & Haniya, Saba Shabbir, Zoe Viccaji, and Sanam Saeed. Sanam and Zoe could be seen as the backing vocalists this time. Abida Parveen outshines the show with her mystical and deeply enriched style in “Ramooz-e-Ishq”. One cannot comment or critique on her performance and chic. She sounds miraculous every time.

In the summer of 08 , we got one of the most finest TV productions from COKE. The first season of Coke Studio was a great success both among the masses and the critics. It was a great production, very esthetically designed artwork : the set and the lights, a great house band featuring very fine musicians and above all, a great producer, Mr. Rohail Hyatt at his best. Since then, Coke studio has come a long way. In summer 09, the second season of Coke Studio was launched. It was even better in almost all aspects. One thing I will like to mention here, that we should all feel very proud of the fact that we have achieved something very big in the form of Coke Studio. Recording Live music is not an easy task. It’s a lot of hard work.
Today, on the 6th of June, 2010, the first episode of Coke Studio’s yet another glorious return was aired on TV. Yes, welcome to Coke Studio – Season III.

Karavan – Yaadein [ Download Audio | Video ]
Karavan are pioneering rockers and in their stint here can be described as the classic rockers of Pakistan. Making their first appearance here, they sing ‘Yaadein’, a pop-rock number. The song is about memories and how they fade, and is played out by the original band along with Omran Shafique, Jaffer Ali Zaidi and Javed Iqbal from the house band. It’s mature rock music at its best: the slow tempo, melody, acoustic sound, along with its conciseness add to its appeal.
Koi naa kahay
Koi bhi na sunay
Dil ki baat yeh
Dil mein hee rahay
Yaadein naa rahain
Chaahoon aisa mein toh
Naa yaad ho mujh ko mera maazi

(Pakistan, 31 May 2010) With the third season of the Coke Studio journey formally announced on 14 May at a press conference, the much-awaited first episode ‘Reason’ will now be airing on 06 June. The brand new season once again takes the audience to the heart of the live recording studio to witness unique performances — each attempting to reflect the rich musical heritage of Pakistan. The central theme this year is the process of creation and hence the first episode revolves around the rationale for creation. That the reason (or the driving force) has range, is taken into account as well: it can be ambition, an unrequited desire, devotion to a higher form and can be subliminal or overt.
Zeb and Haniya – Bibi Sanam (Behind The Scenes)
As almost 6 years painfully pass while fans wait for more news from a big group, expectations of a comeback diminishes. Even 6 years is a long time for bands in Pakistan, and its rare to find a group that has kept a strong foot in the ground. But now the influential group named Karavan is back from the blue with a brand new album, “Saara Jahan”.
Formed in 1997 by guitarist Asad Ahmed (also known for guitaring on Coke Studio), the band lineup is Tanseer Daar on vocals, Asad Ahmed on guitars, Sameer Ahmed on bass and Allan Smith on drums and percussion.
Karavan have revolutionized the Pakistani music scene by fusing Eastern melodies with the power of modern Western rock. Fusion and combinations between East and West is always done, but these guys perfect it. The band has released 3 studio albums and 1 live album racking up sales of 2 million copies worldwide.
