But this time it will be an Urdu one and perhaps the more exciting thing about this track is that it will be featuring none other than Brian O’ Connell of the Junoon fame who will be seen playing the bass guitars in the song.
This year’s most anticipated album ‘Junoon-20 (Volume 1)‘ is finally here. The Sufi rock album which consists of 20 tracks, features talented artists like Aag, Alison Sudol, Bilal Khan, Fifi Haroon, Laal, Nusrat Hussain, Outlandish, Peter Gabriel, Rohail Hyatt, Shahjehan of The Kominas, Shubha Mudgal, Usman Riaz and Vital Signs, has now been released on iTunes.

The volume 2 will be out soon!
Below is the album tracklist:
As you probably already know Salman Ahmad & Brian O’ Connell united for the 20th anniversary of Junoon to release two new special edition albums. This ought to be a treat for Junoon fans as you’re going to get your hands on 40 Junoon songs divided into two volumes.
Salman has already released five of the tracks from volume 1 on YouTube, featuring some of the young talented artists, including Mitti by Aag, Dil Main Meray by Bilal Khan, Neend Aati Nahin by Laal, No More by Outlandish and Saeen by Usman Riaz.
Every music lover has that one song or that one band that changed their life. In Shahjehan Khan’s case, that band was Junoon, and that song was Heer, an instrumental melody from their first album back in 1991.
Junoon-20th Anniversary Album to feature a mash-up of “Ghoom Tana“, which is undoubtedly one of the best Junoon songs ever produced. As most of you may already know that there are two versions of the same song. It was originally sung jointly by Ali Noor (Noori) with Ali Azmat and Salman Ahmad and was included in Junoon’s seventh studio album “Dewaar”. The other version off Salman Ahmad’s 2005 debut solo album, “Infiniti” featured Indian singer Shubha Mudgal.
Saeen is one of the songs off of Junoon‘s best-selling album ‘Azaadi’ that helps further establish their Sufi-Rock style. Now 20 years after the bands formation Usman Riaz interprets one of their many signature melodies in his own style.
Bilal Khan interpreting Junoon‘s “Aap aur Hum” in his beautiful voice for Junoon’s 20th Anniversary album. The song is based on a riff from their song “Aap aur Hum” and Bilal has tried to rework it into something new while keeping in mind the essence of Junoon’s music. The album comes out on September 30th and the proceeds that will be raised from this album will be donated to Salman and Samina’s Charity for Education.

Here’s a final mix of “Chand Sitara”, Junoon’s upcoming single for the 20th anniversary album. Brian O’Connell‘s on bass and Shoaib Mansoor has penned the lyrics. (This is only the second time Shoaib has written a Tarana. Last time it was “Dil Dil Pakistan” when Salman Ahmad was with the Vital Signs.)

Salman Ahmad, the lead guitarist and founder of Junoon is working on putting together a 20th anniversary box-set (1991-2011), which will feature some of Junoon’s popular old songs as well as some new ones.
